Brooke’s music is featured on two recently released CD’s, “Kinesis, vol. 2,” recorded by the Galan Trio on the Neuma label, and “Ascending to Light,” recorded by violinist Igor Kalnin with Albany. The Galan Trio commissioned Brooke’s trio “Mirror” for a concert tour last year, and Kalnin has performed his “Union Protest” several times in recent years.

Brooke was recently awarded two commissions from the American Guild of Organists, both premiered at their national convention in San Francisco, July 2024.

A new work for intermediate pianists, PM2.5, was recently premiered by Michael Mizrahi and is available for free to students studying with a member teacher of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association.

Brooke composed two works in 2020 in response to the ongoing struggle for racial equity, “Show me the way” (for Christmas at Luther 2020) and “He Hung His Head and Died: 12 Variations for George Floyd” (for the Unison Piano Duo).

A new dance opera based on the writings of Julian of Norwich was previewed in 2020 and was filmed as a dance-opera.

Brooke’s children’s opera based on Arnold Lobel’s classic book “Owl at Home” was performed throughout northeast Iowa in August and September, 2019. These are “preview” performances, intended to help the creative team revise and tweak the work before a formal premiere in 2022.

Brooke composed the music for a short film, “Marieke,” which has been an official section at more than 15 film festivals and was featured on Iowa Public Television’s “The Film Lounge.”

Brooke taught at the International Music Festival of the Adriatic in Duino, Italy in June 2013, 2014, and 2016. His blog can be found under the “Projects” tab in the menu.

Brooke’s CD, “Waves of Stone,” is available on the INNOVA label and on the Naxos listening library. Included on the CD are six chamber music pieces, composed between 1994–2008. The Strike Duo released their first CD, Convergence, on Luminescence Records. The disc includes a recording of Brooke’s sacred trees. A recording by the Luther College String Trio and pianist Miko Kominami was released and features Brooke’s trio Laudate eum in cordis.
